Synopsis: Giovanni, a renowned Italian filmmaker, is about to start shooting a political fresco.
But between his marriage in crisis, his co-producer on the verge of bankruptcy and the changing world of cinema, everything seems to be working against him! Giovanni will have to rethink his way of doing things if he wants to lead his little world towards a bright future.

After "La Chambre du fils" (Palme d'Or in 2001), "Habemus Papam", "Mia Madre" and "Tre Piani", Nanni Moretti makes his comeback at the Cannes Film Festival with "Il Sol Dell'Avvenire", a bittersweet comedy in which he mixes the themes that are dear to him: the couple, power, and of course... cinema!
