As part of the Millenium Festival, the Palace is pleased to present a preview screening of SILENT FRIEND, the latest film by Ildikó Enyedi.

Presented in competition at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, the film won the FIPRESCI Prize for Best Film, while its lead actress, Luna Wedler, received the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actress.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Luna Wedler.

Synopsis: In a botanical garden, a tree watches and observes, patiently witnessing centuries. In 1908, it follows Grete, who struggles to survive in an environment that ignores her. In the 1970s, it sees Hannes awaken to love and the world of plants. Today, the old tree speaks to Tony in its secret language. Around it, some search for themselves, others meet each other. It remains, like a silent friend, in a time greater than theirs.
