LE POISSON ARC-EN-CIEL, Farkhondeh Torabi, 13 mn
In a magnificent sea of animated fabrics, little fish are playing hide-and-seek. But the most beautiful of all the fish, the RAINBOW FISH, snubs them, until a mishap makes him realise that they are all equal. He then sheds his dazzling scales and gives them as a gift to all the fish in the sea, which lights up and becomes starry.

SHANGOUL ET MANGOUL, Farkhondeh Torabi & Morteza Ahadi Sarkani, 17 mn
The second short film in this programme, SHANGOUL ANG MANGOUL, is a variation on the Brothers Grimm’s tale THE WOLF AND THE SEVEN YOUNG GOATS. In a vibrant countryside, with the warm, vivid colours of Persian fabrics, the mother goat manages to save her kiddens from the wolf who has come to eat them in her absence.

LILI HOSAK, Vajiollah Fard-e-Moghadam, 16 mn
The final short film, LILI HOSAK, recounts the misadventures of a chick that has fallen into the water, whose parents must call upon the surrounding animals to save it.

These three animated shorts are of unrivalled aesthetic quality. The stories, simple and captivating, are told without words, but accompanied by magnificent, expressive and lively music. Sound effects, such as the babbling of babies for the little fish in THE RAINBOW FISH, bring the animation to life in an extraordinary way. These programmes are a little gem of Iranian animation, suitable for both very young children and adults.
