SOFT LEAVES

SOFT LEAVES tells the story of 11-year-old Yuna, played by newcomer Lill Berteloot. She lives with her father Julien (Geert Van Rampelberg), a high jump coach she gets on well with. When Julien has a serious fall and ends up in hospital, Yuna is on her own with her older brother Kai. Their lives come under pressure when their Japanese mother and half-sister come to Belgium to look after them.

Debuting director Miwako van Weyenberg created an intimate portrait of a girl in search of identity and recognition with this personal film.
