ARBRES – 35MM
Sophie Bruneau , Marc Antoine Roudil
BE/IT/FR, 50′, 2001, VO FR
Synopsis : Trees is a story about trees and trees. It begins with Origins, then travels through the world of trees and the trees of the world. The film recounts the major differences and minor similarities between trees and man, with the overriding idea that trees are to the plant kingdom what man is to the animal kingdom. Arbres is a journey into a different scale of space and time, where we encounter trees that communicate, trees that walk, shy trees and crazy trees… Arbres overturns a number of preconceived ideas, starting from the observation that we always see the animal running on the branch, but never the tree on which it is moving.
A screening organized as part of the Mois du doc, in collaboration with P’tit Ciné and the Cinématheque Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.
