Synopsis : November 1972. At the Bobigny court, an extraordinary trial shakes the whole of France. 16-year-old Marie-Claire Chevalier is accused of having had an illegal abortion. On the witness stand are her mother and all the women who helped her. Their lawyer, Gisèle Halimi, takes a wild, insane gamble: she asks them not to plead guilty. Gisèle is about to do what has never been done before—she will accuse and challenge the law itself, at the risk of losing everything.
