QUEERYING NATURE
Aline Magrez
BE, 66′, 2023, VO ST FR/EN
Synopsis : Over the last twenty years or so, scientists, armed with a fresh and liberated outlook, have revealed an animal world where sexuality, gender and family rhyme with diversity. It’s natural to be queer! From one encounter to the next, the film interweaves the reflections and emotions of two artists inspired by this queer nature and the plurality of animal behaviors poetically imagined. Through the intimate and the reflexive, Queerying Nature asks: does the animal story echo our society? And could we explode the idea of a sexual norm and, while doing so, get rid of the symbolic power of animals?
