- Sun Screens
As part of our SUN SCREENS, Palace is delighted to present a special screening of de Jim Sharman’s THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, made in 1975.
Famous for its upbeat music and energetic performances, the film was saved from the wreckage by its devoted fans. Now a classic of the genre, the film still has just as many fans who regularly take part in interactive screenings of the film.
Screened at our previous SUN SCREENS, this year the film returns to our screens in the presence of political drag artist and notorious freak Blanket La Goulue, who will do us the honour of presenting and hosting this film by Jim Sharman.
Blanket is an artist from Brussels who likes to delve into our musical memories to throw up the mistakes of the past. Somewhere between the kings and the queens, between activism and entertainment, between laughter and anger, he practises a form of drag that is all his own and that evolves according to his daily life and the issues that cross his path. She offers her own version of history, unapologetic and purely subjective, far removed from the prevailing heteronormativity.
US, 100′, 1975, VO EN ST FR
