OPENING SUN SCREENS 2026 - PERSONA

From July 1 to August 23, Palace presents the fifth edition of Sun Screens, its summer program. In addition to its regular weekly schedule, the cinema will showcase restored classics, premieres, repertory screenings, and special events.

The opening weekend immediately sets the tone with La Cérémonie by Claude Chabrol, the launch of a focus on Ingmar Bergman (Summer with Monika and Persona), the premiere of Soulèvements in the presence of the director, and a screening of Chaplin’s timeless satire The Great Dictator.

Synopsis : In the middle of a performance, actress Elisabet Vogler loses her ability to speak. After a stay in a clinic, she settles on the island of Fårö for a while, along with her nurse, Alma. The two young women form a close bond, which helps Alma open up. But this intimate relationship soon begins to unravel.
