Trieste, summer of 2007. Confident Swedish native Fredrika has just moved to the Italian coastal city and finds herself in a technical high school class full of boys. She immediately takes center stage, and not just for her intelligence and knowledge. Over time, she builds a friendship with an inseparable trio: the fascinating and modest Antero, the extroverted casanova Pasini, and the sweet, protective Mitis. Together, they explore the streets of Trieste, party, reflect on the future, share secrets, and discover new feelings. Their final school year will mark them forever. A School Year (Un anno di scuola) is the second feature film by director Laura Samani. Following her debut's premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, this film premiered at Venice, where it won the Best Actor award. Laura Samani is considered one of the leading voices defining the future of Italian cinema.
