In 2019, Palace launched Sun Screens, a special summer program where classics and unreleased films complemented regular releases.
In 2020 and 2021, faced with an uncertain and chaotic situation, we felt it wiser to put the project on hold. It is therefore with a touch of emotion and great pleasure that we close that chapter and bring you the second season of Sun Screens.
From July 1 to August 15, we invite you to (re)discover around forty carefully selected titles categorized into four sections. Discovered at major international festivals or through unexpected channels, the unreleased films never received a theatrical distribution in Belgium. We are giving them their due by welcoming them to Palace, where they will sit alongside key regular releases. Re-releases bring a second wind to films that certainly don’t lack it—because we loved them on our screens or at our competitors’. We are also giving you the opportunity to brush up on your classics with a rich selection of heritage films and focus retrospectives.
And since big-screen cinema together with people is better than without, we have prepared screenings for young and old alike—to laugh, cry, shiver, and even sing along.
We hope you will enjoy Sun Screens as much as we enjoyed putting it together.
