Sun Screens 2023

06.07.2023 > 20.08.2023

This year, over 50 titles spread across 5 categories make up the line-up for our Sun Screens. Taking place from 06/07 to 20/08, the program will be packed with special events, including 35mm film projections (LOST IN TRANSLATION, MARIE ANTOINETTE) alongside a wide selection of 4K restored prints (THE BIG LEBOWSKI, E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL, GHOST DOG, JAWS, THE VIRGIN SUICIDES).

We will kick off with THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH on a 35mm print, presented under the sound conditions originally intended by Alfred Hitchcock in 1956. Sound will also be a key feature to pay attention to during the 35mm screenings of Christopher Nolan’s OPPENHEIMER.

With BARBIE sparking our curiosity for months, the release of Greta Gerwig’s film will be an opportunity for us to explore the representation of women in cinema and challenge a certain feminine myth…

In response to iconic figures like Marilyn Monroe, Catherine Deneuve, and Rita Hayworth in front of the camera, behind it will be Delphine Seyrig, Chantal Akerman, and a host of contemporary female directors. While the vast majority of our preview screenings are directed by women, they invite us to discover female characters of incredible strength—characters who challenge, disrupt, or flat-out shatter a stubbornly normative framework. An eclectic line-up designed for everyone.
