Original Soundtrack

From 14 March to 29 June 2025, Le Palace invited visitors to discover a selection of 200 original vinyl record sleeves from Alain De Groot’s private collection, comprising more than 3,000 records accumulated over more than 40 years. These astonishing works of art, divided into 10 themed categories, covered a wide range of genres: from the symphonic music of the great adventure films to the more avant-garde sound experiments of the 70s, alongside pop, folk and mainstream music.

There was no claim that this was an exhaustive collection: the aim was to showcase the diversity of the items, each with its own unique story. It brought together scores from some of the greatest films in the history of cinema with Z-movie soundtracks remembered specifically for their music. It also featured big names in film music whose careers spanned several decades, jazz and pop musicians trying their hand at the genre and one-hit wonders that were quickly forgotten.
